Four veterans have been awarded their high school diplomas nearly 70 years after leaving to serve in the military.

Embarking on military careers, they found fulfillment but always felt a void. Despite opportunities to travel and learn about the world, they never forgot their hometown roots and eventually returned to Springdale, Arkansas.

However, they never received their high school diplomas.

Now retired, the four men often gather at a local cafe in Springdale. It was there that they crossed paths with present-day Springdale High School teachers. During a visit to the Wagon Wheel Cafe, the veterans encountered a group of Springdale teachers.
